There are tons of things to do in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area. There is always something for everyone and anyone. For the outdoorsmen, there are numerous nature trails and waterfalls just a short drive from the cabin. One of the great outdoor activities in Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is trout fishing. Gatlinburg has several streams that are easily accessible and sure to have that fish you'll be talking about for years. Stock up on supplies at the Bass Pro Shop on your way into town, just off I-40. Don't forget there is also skiing, snow tubing, and ice skating at Ober and during the summer months there is tubing and white water rafting. Another activity my family enjoys is watching the Tennessee Smokies play. They are a minor league baseball team located just off of Interstate 40. They often have a huge display of fireworks after the games.
All along the Gatlinburg Strip and the Pigeon Forge Parkway, you'll find shopping treasures! From the malls to the quaint shops in the Arts & Crafts Community, they have something for all.
For the family, Sevierville offers many activities year round. There are several locations to get in on the action - go carts, laser tag, etc. Sevier County has 3 community centers that offer bowling, pool tables, racquetball, etc. at a reasonable price and you can avoid the "tourist traps". Don't forget Dollywood, DIxie Stampede and Wonderworks.
If you are planning a wedding, there are dozens of wedding chapels. Several of the chapels are only minutes from the cabin. What a romantic way to start off your new life together.
